Rabbinical path
Etz Haim European Rabbinical Academy is a distinctive postdenominational online rabbinical seminary, embracing students from diverse Jewish traditions, Orthodox, Conservative, Reconstructionist, and Reform.
Our global community thrives through the flexibility of online learning, with video-conferenced classes fostering dynamic discussions, communal prayer, and study.

A post and trans-denominational approach
Judaism is evolving, and so is rabbinic leadership. Our academy embraces a post and trans-denominational vision, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Rather than aligning with a single movement, we cultivate a deep, dynamic engagement with Jewish tradition, empowering future rabbis to serve across communities with authenticity and adaptability.
Our faculty comprises educators and Rabbis from various backgrounds and traditions.
A traditional but progressive and inclusive approach
We train rabbis who can connect with diverse Jewish communities bringing the depth of tradition to the realities of modern life.
The curriculum at Etz Haim integrates traditional methods and texts with a contemporary understanding of the diverse Jewish experience. Students engage deeply with classic Jewish teachings while also examining the realities of today’s Jewish world, characterized by its rich variety and openness to non-Jewish contexts.
This dual approach ensures that future rabbis are not only well-versed in historical traditions but are also equipped to navigate and respond to the complexities of modern Jewish life, fostering dialogue and connection within the broader community, equipping leaders for for the multifaceted needs of the 21st-century rabbinate.
The journey culminates in Smicha/ordination, marking the transition from student to teacher and spiritual leader. The Smicha committee (Beth Din) includes Reform, Conservative, and post-denominational Rabbis who provide mentorship throughout the students’ journey and .ongoing support, resources, and connection, ensuring continuous growth beyond ordination.
